|
The
founding of AGCSS is the germination of a seed of love
that was sown when the Assemblies of God of
Singapore had her Social Concerns Department . Brought
together by a shared vision of caring for the community
, the Executive Committee of the Assemblies of God
Council , mooted the idea of forming a voluntary welfare
organization to provide community services under the
AG umbrella. A committee was formed and AGCSS came
to fruition when she was registered as a society on
7 January 2000 and accorded the charity status
on 12 May 2000 .

As
we set our sights on nurturing AGCSS into a social
concern that will make an impact on the lives in our
community , we are reminded that " he that waters
shall be watered also himself" - Proverbs 11:
25 . How much we can do and how fast we can grow will
depend largely on our volunteers and donations . We
can draw encouragement from the principle that even
as we share our blessings with others , we too shall
be blessed .

I
therefore appeal to you as you view this website ,
to put love into action . There are many avenues for
you to share in our work with the community from being
a prayer partner to volunteering your time and services
.
